At least ten (10) years of experience working as a nurse” in Ontario. This will also cover applicants from outside of Ontario. The “10 years of experience” requirement is not absolute. This requirement is designed to provide the most support to new nurse applicants over the years. The maximum amount of experience is six years. Applications with less than six years of experience must be refused and must re-apply in one year. This section provides information about the eligibility criteria for the program: Who is not eligible? This section outlines the eligibility criteria for other groups that may be eligible if they meet the eligibility criteria for the Ontario Works program. If your family or your employer is not eligible, then you will need to find another financial source. You will not obtain any benefits through the Ontario Works program.
